Chris Mumford worked with one of the world’s foremost luxury hotel groups. To recruit a head of Residential Development, Marketing and Sales for the Asia Pacific region. Chris did this through highly targeted recruiting of experts in branded residences worldwide with a particular focus on the Asia region. Approached real estate brokers, consultants, developers with a track record in luxury residential development and sales. 

The biggest challenge was the lack of people in similar roles within the client’s direct competitor set. This therefore required a more creative approach to identifying possible candidates and to assessing individuals who could be suitable for a role they had not previously done. For example, as a development role on behalf of the hotel brand, many candidates from residential brokerage who knew the product and customer base well were not well suited in terms of cultural fit and skill set. 

Chris recruited a talented consultant who is at the forefront of branded residential development in the hotel sector and who will thereby help advance this luxury hotel brand’s market presence in Asia.  

It was a privilege to represent one of the world’s most recognised and respected luxury hotel brands that is a leader in branded residences. Following an exhaustive search we managed to secure a reputed industry expert in Singapore who matched well with the client’s strong corporate culture and values. It was also a fun insight into the world of luxury apartments and penthouses! My most enjoyable part of the experience was exploring another sector, in this case residential real estate, and helping to bring that expertise into the hotel world. Chris Mumford, Head of Leadership Services
